The master of embroidery

Friends and Family

This is Carol Olsen, a 77 year old woman who lives in Ephrata, WA. Unlike many women her age, she doesn't watch t.v. "I don't like to watch t.v. and the stories they tell, so I'm not going to pay for it. But I can spend hours on embroidery. It's something I find joy in and where I can make and decorate my house with."

I must admit, when she first told me that she made all of these, I didn't believe her. But then she took me through her house and showed me more of her creations that are posted all over her house. I was in complete disbelief, at the process to make each of these wonderful embroideries.

Unfortunately, due to a surgery and misplaced IV, Carol can no longer feel her fingertips and it is hard to know when she is holding a needle. If you wanting to learn how to cross-hatch though, Carol said it is easy for anyone to learn and is a great hobby. Click here for more info.

If you have any questions, general comments,  or have some great pictures of projects you have embroidered, post and comment down below!!

  1. haha this is the first time I've seen this. Been to busy at camp. Nice job Rory! I'll have to show my grandma this next time I see her.

  2. Thanks Serena! You were the one that helped me revise it. If you hadn't helped, i'm sure it wouldn't be as good :)
